FINAL COUNTDOWN 1 : Remaining Batches

Hey folks I’m back to catch up after a lot of behind-the-scenes changes. Although I mentioned the transition and adjustments in our last update we are officially locked in and set to finish.
Of the 20 varied batches of packages for this campaign, we are down to the final 8.
Now that we are in the final stretch, and the issues and errors of technical problems are behind us I will be stopping these more long-form updates.
Of the 8 batches we have left...
Batches 1-3 will be shipped out this week, no later then Monday. These are the handful of you whose pledges were erroring in the backerkit shipping system, which prompted the change to pirateship.
Batch 4, is a bigger batch and will be out the door by next Friday.
Batches 5-6, are the last bigger batch, and will be out the door by June 1-8th.
Batches 7, will be out June 1-15th
And finally
Batch 8, will be out by 15-22nd.

From here on out I will be sending short updates as we progress along. That way you can track the shipments in real-time, so expect bi-weekly updates from here.
Given this final delay, and the successful funding of our next book in our Mork Borg collection, I have decided that while I cannot make up the lost time in waiting for Smorg to arrive at your door, I can reward your patience throughout the process. Everyone who got physical copies of Smorgasborg will receive free PDF’s of “The Sky is Falling” when they are ready later this year. Another 220+ pages of playable goodness. I saw many familiar names on that campaign, and I am grateful to those of you who continue to support my work. For those who didn’t, I hope you enjoy your time in the tunnels!
I'd also like to thank those of you who have been messaging me about your nasty teeth die. Almost all of you have been using them as cursed dice to gross out players and I am happy to have helped in that goal! I also want to inform you all that what was originally meant to be a fun retail item, will now become a limited-run treat for you. Of the complications I ran into on this project, nothing slowed down shipping more than the dice. They are amazingly nasty and very time-consuming to get right. My estimates of how popular these would be have been blown completely out of the water. I have personally, hand-painted almost 300 individual teeth die. A time and willpower investment I was not anticipating! I love these dice, but they cannot exist in the intense form they have taken. I am officially discontinuing the 1d20 before it hits retail, I love it as a weird artifact but it is way more intense to create than the d6, and much less satisfying to use, in my opinion. The d6 however, will go to retail but in a more "mass production" friendly form. I am so glad these have taken off like a storm, so I hope they continue to gross out your friends for years to come!
Finally, and massive thanks to those who recommended Pirate Ship to help solve a lot of the issues that were slowing down the process. They have been an absolute joy to work with, and I already highly recommend them to anyone else looking to branch out into their own zines.

Hello cannibals! It’s a big day for Mork Borg so I wanted to post a quick announcement here.
THE SKY IS FALLING
Our tunneling horror book is now live. As I’ve mentioned before that was a project that continued independently as I worked on the layout of Smorg thanks to growing from just me to the team we now call “The Flagellant & The Fool”. I am incredibly proud of it as I think it’s the perfect mix of horror and atmosphere I love plus polished up a lot of the processes I learned on Smorg. For those of you who don’t know what it is…
The Sky is Falling is a hand crafted setting guide and content packed book for the Mork Borg world post 7:7*. *Well a world in which the apocalyptic darkness of 7:7 spares those who tunnel DEEP underground. Worry not though as though the surface has been destroyed only the fiends and fools survived and a world of DARKNESS awaits those within the dirt. Our book will be packed with adventures, classes, optional rules, and some new mechanics to add a fresh spin to play.
That book couldn’t have been done without the kindness and critique I’ve received from all of you on Smorg. And so I think you!

Remaining Smorg backers-
The final leg of complications with fulfillment is soon at an end. As some of you know I have been having a technical battle with backerkit shipping erroring many of my backers without rhyme or reason. I have spent most of the past month trying to sort this and have come to a relived concussion, as the remaining backers will be shipped through Pirateship! A lot of good is coming out of working with pirate ship, especially for my future international backers so I am happy to make that swap. Those of you who’ve had some lingering tracking info know it will be updated this week as you packages are out.
As for my faux leather backers, the aim is to have all* (if not nearly all) those books in your hands by the end of May. You’ve waited long enough, I packed your packaged with some delay apology goodies but the wait is long enough and you deserve to eat meat!
All in all I am very proud of Smorg and what it has taught me, both in how one actually builds a book and especially how one distributes it. As I’m sure many of my backers are fellow indie creators or soon to be, once Smorg is officially out my final announcement will be a little writeup of all I’ve learned through this process both as a looking back and in hopes it helps my fellow creators skip some of the messy mistakes I made through this process.

Adepticon is right around the corner, and as I will be attending I am back with another update on where things are before my brief trip.
Everything Else-
The last non-limited edition packages will be out by next week. I had a couple of pledges get held up by Backerkit but all of that is ironed out.
Faux Leather covers-
With just shy of 100 hand-painted die amongst your orders I am almost finished with all the teeth! The final box of books has not arrived yet, but I am prepping to have the dice ready for their drop. Once that’s done I get to packing and sending.

Although we’ve had our testplay up on drivethrurpg, I wanted to make sure that the first announcement hit you backers as without you, your support, and your c&c on Smörgasbörg I wouldn’t be bringing you such an insane second book!
All that’s left with Smörg is the final round of limited edition backers. 100% of my working hours are devoted to finalizing and shipping these books. So there will be no pause or interruption on this process during the launch of this campaign.
We are very excited to bring you a book crafted from all the lessons we learned on Smörgasbörg, one that will feel distinct among this golden era of Mörk Borg books. For now, enjoy a first look at one of our classes!

This is a great preview of the style of our new book, it is entirely hand cut and scanned by me. Learning from my experiments in Smörgasbörg the book is aiming to be both grittier, and more atmopsheric then Smörg, while being even more legible for ease of play.

Simple, text light update. It has been a long back-and-forth process, but the physical proof of the faux leather hard covers has been approved. Final order inbound. Once the box arrives I'll post another update as I start wrapping these to go!
